Here we present the projects that the association has already participated in. We would like to thank everyone who has made this possible through their Membership fees and donations have made this possible.

Christmas Concert

On December 18, 2022, a Christmas concert took place in the parish church in Kottenheim for the first time in three years. The Corona pandemic had forced an interruption. Works by Arcangelo Corelli, JS Bach and Francesco Manfredini were performed, among others. Susanne Ambrosius (flute), Winfried Rasbach (oboe) and the Schöneck Ensemble from Koblenz.The concert was sponsored with funds from the support association.

Bornhofenwallfahrt

The book by Dr. Alexander Saftig about the history ofThe Kottenheimer Bornhofen pilgrimage to the Sorrowful Mother of God was last published in 2006 in its third edition. The current new edition takes into account the events up to 2020.

DThe lighting in the church interior was replaced in 2020. The support association contributed to the costs.

Christmas Oratorio II

On December 7, 2019, the Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248 Cantatas I-III) by Johann Sebastian Bach was performed for the second time after 2017 in the Pallotti Church at Haus Wasserburg in Vallendar and on December 8, 2019 in the parish church of St. Nikolaus in Kottenheim. Performing artists were the choir friends music from Leipzig and the musicians of the Schöneck Ensemble from Koblenz under the direction of Ron-Dirk Entleutner. The soloists were Johanna Ihrig (soprano), Hanna Hagel (alto), Severin Böhm (tenor) and Dominic Große (bass). The concert in Kottenheim was sponsored with funds from the support association.

The soloists were Reglint Bühler (soprano), Hanna Hagel (alto), André Khamasmie (tenor) and Dominic Große (bass). The concert in Kottenheim was sponsored with funds from the support association.

Epitaph Junker Schilling

On 30 June 2107, the historian Wolfgang Schmid presented his book "The Epitaph of Junker Konrad Schilling von Lahnstein in Kottenheim and the Funerary Art of the Gothic and Renaissance in the Mayen-Koblenz Area", published by History and Antiquities Association for Mayen and Surrounding Areas (GAV Mayen), in the parish church of St. Nikolaus in Kottenheim. The printing was supported by funds from the Friends' Association and the Friends of Junker-Schilling Kottenheim e. V.The book can be purchased during opening hours at the community office in Kottenheim, at the local bookstore in Mayen and from the GAV Mayen.

Claudius Engelhardt goes into detail in his publication "The Parish Church in Kottenheim - A Tour of the Church and its History" uses numerous sources to examine the construction history of the parish church and presents its furnishings.
